THE GUARDIANS OF THE EARTH, THE INDIGENOUS KOGI PEOPLE
Mamo Santuno Zarabata - Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia
The first Freedom and Peace Award was presented to Mamo Santuno Zarabata, a highly respected spiritual leader (Mamo) of the Kogi, on April 16, 2022. On behalf of the guardians of the earth, the Kogi people and their brother peoples the Arhuaco, Wiwa and Kankuamo, he accepted the award high up in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
With this award, we honor, appreciate and value the spiritual work of the Guardians of the Earth, who have been serving freedom and peace on our planet for thousands of years in a healing and completely unconditional way. They have preserved their cultural and spiritual knowledge and are utilizing it for the benefit of all humanity. Their devotion to Mother Earth and their contribution to peace for all humanity is exemplary.
The Kogi and their brother peoples, descendants of the Tairona culture, live in close connection with Mother Earth in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. With their cultural and spiritual knowledge, which has been preserved for thousands of years, they continually harmonize and protect Mother Earth through spiritual practices. Their ancestral wisdom says that for all Mother Earth gives, something must be given back to maintain the balance of the world. Exploitation and abuse of Mother Earth by humans thus have a great influence on the balance of Mother Earth. With spiritual work at sacred places, for which they travel great distances within the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, largely on foot, they have been fulfilling the energetic harmonization works of their tradition for thousands of years.
The Kogi and their brother peoples see the Sierra Nevada as the heart of the earth, the protection of which has a healing effect on the whole world.
In recent decades, the Kogi have repeatedly sent messages to humanity to draw attention to environmental destruction and human misconduct and their effects on our planet. We hereby express our gratitude for their clear words on this subject.
The culture and traditions of the Guardians of the Earth are an important part of Colombia’s cultural heritage.
The first Freedom and Peace Award goes to an entire people, an indigenous people, who have always been peacefully committed to the concerns of our earth. With our award ceremony, we are highlighting the importance of indigenous peoples on this earth for peace and freedom and express our everlasting gratitude.

HIS HIGHNESS MAHARAJA GAJSINGH II - KING OF JODHPUR AND THE REGION OF MARWAR
Jodhpur, India
By awarding GAJSINGH-II with the Freedom and Peace Award, we honor, appreciate and esteem a life’s work that goes beyond humanitarian boundaries, both through his efforts in the Head Injury Foundation and through His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust are extraordinary.
The work of the Head Injury Foundation in India is a foreliving, foreloving and foreshining example for all countries and societies.
For the Indian population, it stands for education and raising awareness to safeguard personal health through prevention while at the same time providing fast and adequate help for affected people.
From the direct experience of the family and the knowledge gained from it, a project was developed to improve emergency care, follow-up medical care and rehabilitation. This has created a foundation of inestimable value for preventative healthcare and aftercare for the benefit of the entire Indian population.
Keeping the well-being of our fellow human beings in mind and thinking, feeling and acting accordingly is a service to our next self.
Sharing the knowledge of liberation from suffering and hardship and the ways of healing is the most humanitarian action because it is the kind of action that transitions from a personal view to a global view and care for other people. This insight no longer regards oneself as separate from one’s fellow human beings or other fellow beings but includes all other beings as our next self.
The efforts to provide specialist medical care, adequate rehabilitation for those affected, and enabling prevention through education and raising awareness for all of the population, have made a significant contribution to liberation from hardship and suffering and to the pacification of discrimination based on social differences. We deeply thank GAJSINGH-II. for this project in the spirit of the Freedom and Peace Award by David Wared.
His work in „His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust“ is characterized by various projects that not only give the rural population the opportunity to lead a dignified life, but also to restore and preserve the environment and thus Mother Earth upon which we all live.
An essential building block for improving the quality of life is the education of the people, which leads to a different understanding of a sustainable approach to nature and oneself, so that future generations will also find an intact environment.
Securing the water supply for agriculture and providing clean drinking water and sanitary facilities for the population is an invaluable contribution to maintaining a healthy environment, a healthy population and a healthy animal and plant population.
GAJSINGH-II. pays particular attention to girls and women. They achieve a financially independent and socially autonomous life through education, vocational training and the funding of their own projects.
The commitment of GAJSINGH-II. ensures the sustainable improvement of the living conditions of all people involved, the health and conservation of robust animal breeds, as well as the natural and plant world in the climatically difficult and socially disadvantaged areas of the country. His commitment is therefore a commitment for the benefit of all beings.
The support given to the people affected enables them to change their lives sustainably through their own efforts.
The message of GAJSINGH-II. is: “Don’t give them fish, teach them to fish.”
The realization of his message changes social structures permanently and innovatively. It is life-saving, life-preserving and dignifying.
It lifts those affected out of the cycle of poverty, illness, dependency and the struggle for survival into a self-determined life with prospects that enable people to pass on the happiness they have been given. This makes the initiative of GAJSINGH-II. a pioneering and transgressive role model for the liberation, pacification, healing and awareness of individuals and their communities.
This work sets the course for decisive changes. These are groundbreaking for the realization of initially humanitarian goals and, beyond that, for the change, refinement and transformation of humanity into extended humanity, which serves the well-being of all living beings and goes beyond simply coexisting freely and peacefully.
David Wared’s vision of extended humanity applies to all people, animals, plants and our planet Earth, as well as to all existence, creation and living beings. It sustainably leads human societies towards societies of living freedom and peace. This is the realization of our original consciousness.
Our highest, deepest and most extensive thanks go to GAJSINGH-II. In the spirit of the Freedom and Peace Award by David Wared, his thoughts, feelings and actions receive the highest recognition and appreciation.

SRI AUROBINDO AND THE MOTHER (POSTHUMOUS)
represented by Swami Brahmdev Aurovalley Ashram, India
Sri Aurobindo & The Mother – Pioneers of a spiritual awakening
Sri Aurobindo (1872-1950) and his close companion Mirra Alfassa (1878 – 1973), known as “The Mother” are awarded the Freedom and Peace Award by David Wared for their unique life’s work as an eternal reminder of the opening principle of freedom and the preserving principle of peace in individual, global and universal world events.
They deserve the deepest gratitude, honor, appreciation and esteem for their unconditional service to the rebirth of an international peace community of universal import.
Sri Aurobindo: Indian enlightener, philosopher and yogi
With the opening of the philosophical teaching of “Supramental Consciousness”, Sri Aurobindo, as an Indian enlightener, philosopher and yogi, paved the way for spiritual evolution for humanity. He sees the One as the origin of the cosmos, which acts through supramental consciousness in space, place and time and thus permeates and moves everything worldly.Henceforth, human beings are not separated from their divine essential origin, but are enabled to unite the spiritual with the earthly in a renewing way.
Sri Aurobindo’s light of freedom shines beyond the borders of India to Europe and America. It liberates people from their dependence and shows them how to access their essential source of strength and their original potential as spiritual beings.
This elevated thinking, deep feeling and expansive action deserves the greatest honor, dignity and appreciation, as it deserves the greatest honor, dignity and appreciation, as it makes a lasting contribution to the liberation and pacification of the world community. As a practical application of his teachings, he developed “Integral Yoga”, which guides, accompanies and carries people on their path to awareness and inner peace. Through integral yoga, they experience a spiritual and essential orientation in their everyday activities and let go of inner and outer limitations. Sri Aurobindo has thus developed a practice that enables a path of liberation for people and lifts them into a new consciousness of peace through integration.
The Mother: The Divine Feminine
The Mother has received the spirit of Sri Aurobindo and preserved it in devotional vitality. The spirit-soul union between Sri Aurobindo and The Mother reveals the miracle of creation. She took over the sole leadership of the ashram in Pondicherry and accompanied many people on their path. After the passing of Sri Aurobindo, the universal city of Auroville was created under her guidance. Thus the free spirit of Sri Aurobindo is immortalized through the peaceful soul of the Mother and realized in the unity community. Auroville is a place of peace that serves as a place of unity and a visionary outlook for future sanctuaries of peace in the world.
We honor Sri Aurobindo and The Mother for their service to freedom and peace. They have left a spiritual legacy in the history of humanity that reminds us of the true and essentially real origin of all creation and restores it to its full potential as a creator being.
